The Community Outreach Division works as a liaison among community residents, county programs, and other health or human service providers. To build relationships within neighborhoods and de-centralize service delivery, the department utilizes seven Community Resource Centers, CRCs throughout rural communities.

The Division is responsible for county-wide outreach activities by networking, planning and community organizing in neighborhoods and rural communities, forming community coalitions to identify and address unmet health and human service needs. Outreach revolves around monthly planning meetings called “Convivio” or get-together, during which county staff and residents communicate, identifying needs for education, services or resources.

Staff deliver services by developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with local providers, hosting service providers and offering timely, needed resources. This is a true collaboration that benefits rural residents and supports the County's mission.

Established by the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners in 2003, this Division provides the mechanism to reach residents of rural communities or colonias.
